Most Realtors will not tell you that they make money when they refer your name to another Realtor in another city. It is usually 25% of the listing or selling end of the commission.

For example, $250,000 home with 7% commission on the 1st $100,000 and 3% commission on the balance, the total commission payable would be $11,500.00.

This would be split between the listing and selling Realtor. I would get 25% of the listing or selling share for referring you, which would be 25% of $5,725, that is $1,430.00 to me.

At this point, I split it with you! $715.00 is yours for letting me refer you. Pretty easy money, isn't it! Why not call me before you list or sell. After all, it's your money!
